Day For Kids is Sept. 17! Fall 2011 | Share:
Join Us

Join us in celebrating our nation's youth by participating in Day for Kids on September 17. Make a commitment to connect with the young person in your life and spend meaningful time together engaging in active play. By having fun playing together, you will be creating memories that will last a lifetime.

Did you know that active play is a vital part of developing a young person's cognitive, physical, social and emotional well-being? Also, according to the American Academy of Pediatrics, play offers an ideal opportunity for parents to engage fully with their children.

How do you participate in DFK?

There are several ways you can join hundreds of adults and kids across the country in celebrating Day for Kids.

  • Participate in a local celebration. Boys & Girls Clubs across the country and on military installations overseas celebrate by hosting events for the entire family to enjoy. These events are indoor/outdoor festivals, walks, picnics and rallies.
  • Host your own event. Plan to spend meaningful time with a kid by participating in a fun-filled activity. To help you get started, access our Day for Kids toolkit below with tips, resources and templates.
  • Play Safe Online – And Win! Participate in the myclubmylife.com Media Safety Scavenger Hunt and show us you know how to play safe online. This game, made possible by Sprint, reminds us why being safe online is important. The contest runs from Sept. 7 until Sept. 19 and teens can win $50 for answering all seven questions correctly!
